New home office = 2.0 WiiM + Kanto YUP 4s to start
From Reddit saved post — r/BudgetAudiophile, u/Zq7Wk9Xr, Aug 25 2026 https://www.reddit.com/r/BudgetAudiophile/comments/1vxm9wr/new_home_office_20_wiim_kanto_yup_4s_to_start/ I know myself enough to know that adding the kanto sub is likely. But I went into this w this plan; 1. Keep speakers under 5” woofers (small ft print) 2. Push them as optimally & clean as possible 3. Must have air play 2 4. Maintain hi res/lossless from the macbook when needed Cant wait to fire this up and give it a spin. Anyone stay w 2.0 w the wiim + kanto 4s??

Comment on: Is there a noticeable difference between 44.1 kHz / 16-bit FLAC and 192 kHz / 24-bit ALAC?
From Reddit saved comment — r/BudgetAudiophile, u/clock_watcher, Oct 04 2025 https://www.reddit.com/r/BudgetAudiophile/comments/1ny8k2f/is_there_a_noticeable_difference_between_441_khz/nhsz4sp/ Comment on: Is there a noticeable difference between 44.1 kHz / 16-bit FLAC and 192 kHz / 24-bit ALAC? 16/44.1 is the redbook standard that was chosen for CDs. It wasn't picked randomly, it was selected because it covers (well, exceeds) the range of human hearing. 16-bits gives 96dB of dynamic range, 44.1KHz covers 0Hz to 22050Hz. When young with perfect hearing, you'll hear 20Hz to 20000Hz. Trained listeners have heard differences between 16/44.1 and high res when listening in controlled test environments, using headphones and test tones. Real world, with music, you have no chance of hearing any difference. A million times more so when listening through speakers as you'll have 30-40dB noise floor in a quiet room. There are genuine benefits for recording and producing music at higher sample rates and bit depth, but no benefit for music playback. If you can hear differences between high res and 16/44.1 versions of a song, they will be different masters.

Which stylus fits this use case? Is “indestructible” really a thing?
From Reddit saved post — r/BudgetAudiophile, u/wispofether, Sep 16 2025 https://www.reddit.com/r/BudgetAudiophile/comments/1ni6gaq/which_stylus_fits_this_use_case_is_indestructible/ ChatGPT misdirects me and I need your opinions and experience. I have a fairly clean, revealing setup. Which stylus would you recommend for playing everything from worn 1960s pressings to modern clean jazz vinyl? (Preferably MM and around 100$) (I’ve used the AT-VM95E but switched to the AT3600L, since it’s cheap, called as “indestructible”, and tames pops on older records. Is this a bad trade-off when it comes to getting the best sound from my clean pressings?)
