Hey everyone,
I recently read that article that mentions how 87% of games prior to 2010 are no longer available anymore and that got me thinking about the games I played as a kid that are no longer sold.
Some examples of my favorites are the older Spider-Man games (Spider-Man 1, 2 & 3, Shattered Dimensions, Web of Shadows), the Harry Potter games, LoTR Battle for Middle-earth 1 & 2, Lords of Everquest, Rise of Nations - Rise of Legends, Rise and Fall - Civilizations At War, Dracula Twins, The Incredible Hulk. Disney's Hercules is fortunately still available on Steam but my favorite Hercules game is actually one from the PS2 called Heracles - Battle with the Gods.
As for Sonic games, people seem to praise Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 but I think Sonic Heroes was probably better. You were able to pick a team of 3 characters and swap between those characters on the fly depending on what obstacle you encounter.
There were also these old Yu-Gi-Oh! trilogy games where you would play against Yugi, Kaiba and eventually Joey in the third version. I remember playing those with my friends a lot.
What are some of your personal favorites that are no longer sold anywhere ?
EDIT: Also Neverhood!

After using RPCS3 for some time, it made me realize just how many good games are stuck on the PS3.

I'm in the process of discovering PS3 games that I had never played before, through the magic of emulation. When I still had my PS3 nearly 10 years ago, all I played was GTA 4 and GTA 5, and nothing else. So it's fair to say that I missed out on a lot of games.
Even though my laptop is mid teir and isn't strong enough to run many of the games at a stable 25-30 FPS, it doesn't bother me that much. I grew up with bad laptops and horrible framerates, so I have a pretty high tolerance for these things. Just for reference, before the Xbox 360 emulator got its performance boosts a short while ago, I managed to beat Gears of War 2 on a very low FPS. There were a few sections where I have to do precision aiming against moving targets at 5 FPS. Stuff like that built up my tolerance so much that it made me become a changed man.
You might wonder why I put myself through that. The reasons are simple, Gears of War 2 isn't on PC, I don't have the money to buy an Xbox, the input delay through streaming Xcloud is absolutely terrible because I have weak internet, I have no desire to buy an Xbox just to play 1 game, and because I like Gears of War 2 enough to finish it. So emulation was my only option.
Anyway, I'm having extremely first good impressions these PS3 games, even with the low and choppy framerate:
+ Killzone 2
+ Resistance 1
+ The Darkness 1
+ Motorstorm Pacific Rift
+ God of War 1 HD
+ Infamous 1
I'm really loving my time with these games. Alongside the Xbox 360 emulator (which has better performance from my experience), I'm getting the best of three worlds in a long dead console war. PS3 exclusives, 360 exclusives, and my usual go to games on PC. It's funny how pointless these pathetic console wars are in hindsight, because now emulation users just get to enjoy all of them on one machine.
I really wish the PS3 was more like the 360, in hindsight. 360 has the advantage of backwards compalbility for future consoles, and the PS3 doesn't. Most of the games I mentioned above are stuck on the PS3, and they'll likely never get a remastered release. I had a feeling if these games had been 360 exclusives instead (exclude Darkness 1), they would have been playable for the modern consoles.
This is my biggest problem with the PS3, the fact that so many good games are stuck on it and will never see a re-release pisses me off. I hate that people have to resort to emulation just to side step this problem, and it won't be many years later until RPCS3 would become more stable for many more games.
Luckily, the PS4 doesn't have this problem. I remember there was a story that the PS3 used to be backwards compatible for PS2, but Sony stripped out that feature because of some reasons, I think it was related to Linux, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on that. It just hurts to imagine a world where the PS3 is backwards compatible for the PS4.
Additional notes:
Oh yeah! How could I have forgotten this? FUCK THE SIXAXIS! FUCK IT TO ALL HELL! I despise it, and I lost 45 minutes just trying to figure how to set up this shit. I was extremely lucky because I have a Dualshock 4 controller, but I can't imagine the pain for people that aren't as lucky. Seriously, within the first 15 minutes of Killzone 2 you're FORCED to use sixaxis. And if you're unable to set it up, well you're fucked. And again, FUCK sixaxis!

Games Worth Playing That Can Be Completed In Under 60 Minutes

While PatientGaming mostly revolved around playing older titles due to price and system performance, another reason I often see thrown around on this sub is that people are just too busy to keep up with what's new. It got me thinking about what gaming experiences can be fully realised within a 60 minute time limit.
The only limitation I would like to add is that the game actually has to be worth playing. That's an entirely subjective rule, so interpret it how you want. Personally, even though [it's only 14 minutes from start to finish](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I075dM_AZ2g), I think Altered Beast on Mega Drive is a game best left to history.
Here is a list that I could think of to get things started:

|Contra|NES|1988|
|:-|:-|:-|
|After Burst|Game Boy|1990|
|TaleSpin (only 30 minutes!)|NES|1991|
|Power Blade|NES|1991|
|Mega Man - Dr. Wily's Revenge |Game Boy|1991|
| Mega Man 2 |Game Boy|1991|
|Darkwing Duck|NES|1992|
| Legend of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse |Sega Master System|1994|
| In The Hunt |PS1|1995|
|Hook|PC/iOS/Android|2015|
|Plug & Play|PC|2015|
|Copoka|PC|2016|
|A Mortician's Tale|PC|2017|
