I have a hobby of building the lowest spec machine for the lowest amount of money. Current rig specs for those interested will be at the bottom. My latest find has probably been my best to date. I was flipping throw the local classified ads setup by some facebook group. Someone was moving and tossing out 10 (TEN) optiplex 3010s. All of these machines are identical. Small form factor case i3 3220, 4gb RAM 1600mhz, 240w psu,radeon hd 7470 and missing the harddrives. I ended up having some left over parts from another find and decided to pilfar through the parts and found a Xeon 1225v2 processor. This is an ivy bridge processor that will work with the optiplex 3010. This is a 4 core processor that will turbo up to 3.6ghz. Nice little bump from the i3. the xeon is closer to a i5 3470 purely based on specs. I've decided to keep one or two of these for personal reasons (I only have 2 xeon processors..you do the math) and im donating the rest to friends/family. ​ My other two machines wouldn't necessarily meet low spec gaming, but my rule is to keep the price under $100 for any build....now for the specs: HP Z420 (garbage picked), xeon 2603@2.8ghz, gtx 970 4gb(bought from coworker), 16gb 1600mhz ecc ram, intel ssd 280gb, 1tb western digital blue, 800w psu, two dell 23" monitors (picked up from local goodwill) second build does have more than $100 invested, but it was to help a friend in need. fx8350, 16gb of gskill ram, rx 580 8gb, 850w psu, 500gb western digital blue, 240gb [a.data](https://a.data) ssd, msi motherboard, some random samsung 32" tv I got on a black friday sale.
