I've owned an LG G2 83" TV since November 2022, purchased on Amazon. 6 months or so after having the TV, I got stuck in the Pixel Cleaning message Yes/No loop after 2,000 hours of use where no matter what I did, the TV would either not do the Pixel Cleaning, or it would, but the message would not go away making it seem like it didn't do it. This meant every time I would turn the TV on, it would always pop up the pixel cleaning message asking me to do it by selecting yes and it would take 60mins, or by selecting no it would do it next time I turned the TV off. The message never disappeared. As you can imagine, this became a huge annoyance every time l'd turn the TV on, or press a button after awaking it from the idling screensaver. Eventually I submitted a support ticket request with LG and had a tech come to my home and the fix was to replace the motherboard. My TV worked flawlessly at that point afterwards removing that message, until this week, which was roughly 6 months after it last happened. I once again encountered the same pixel cleaning loop, and issue, as I surpassed 2,000 hours on the new motherboard. After it going on for a few days again, I started researching again online to see if any new information came out, but none had. I tried all the usual stuff like factory reset, changing quick start and always ready to off, etc. None of it worked, same as last time. It was at this point that I figured l'd have to contact LG once again, which is a HUGE hassle to possibly have to replace stuff every 6 months or so to fix this error. But I am happy to say I have FINALLY found a fix for it which has worked for me so far. I discovered this on my own and had not found it anywhere, so I figured I would post it so l could save many people who experience the same a lot of hassle. So without further delay, here is the fix that worked for me on LG G2. I am guessing it would likely work on other LG G and C OLED models as well, but I can't guarantee it: So the issue is that the message appears after 2,000 hours. So l started thinking, what if I was able to reset the counter to show zero hours, would the message then go away as it is probably directly tied to that counter? So I searched the internet asking how you can reset the counter, to test that theory. What I found is that you can reset the TV's hours used counter back to zero by using an LG service remote. I purchased this remote here as it is very inexpensive from Amazon (I can’t link directly in this post as it flags for SPAM but will put in comments below if I can): Model MKJ39170828 sold by Brand VINABTY Once it arrived today, I turned the TV on, and I pressed the "InStop" button on the remote and entered the code 0413. By doing this, it factory resets the entire TV, AND ALSO RESETS THE HOURS USED TIMER!!! Once I did this, it removed the pesky Pixel Cleaning message as my counter was at zero!!! The downside here of course is that it requires you to reset the TV 100% so you lose your settings, and the hours count on your TV won't be accurate, but if you are okay with both of those things, this method removed that Pixel Cleaning message, which was my intended goal. I didn't mind setting the TV back up for an hour or so in exchange for removing that pixel cleaning loop. I imagine more than likely I will have to do this procedure every 2,000 hours, so that kinda sucks, but it is well worth it to remove that message IMO. I will only run the Pixel cleaning manually in the future if my TV picture feels like it is degrading. So there you have it! This fix worked for me, and it probably will for you, as long as you are cool with the tradeoffs. Just make sure you make note of all your changed settings before you do it if you want to set things back up after you do this. You'll also probably want to keep a log or mental note of how many true hours you have on the TV after you reset it every 2,000 or so hours. Who knew purchasing a $7 remote would help you reset the timer count on your TV to help remove this most annoying message.

The exact message was: *The Pixel Cleaning is required to watch videos an a clear screen. Do you want to start right now? Turn off the TV with the remote control to execute later automatically.* It also can be seen on the photo. No matter if you chose Yes or No, it always performed the pixel cleaning but asked again the next time it was turned on. \[Small note: You can actually avoid the cleaning process by not shutting down the TV with the remote, instead letting it turn off by its own by choosing a source with no signal; but that is only a temporary solution\] https://preview.redd.it/pnahmfhn6hdb1.jpg?width=3570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b8ad6d61f38fea64c434922ff9ffb01f7b3062 Aside from the fact that it´s annoying to get this message on every startup, the pixel cleaning is a process that is intened to run (depending on the model) every 500 (2022 models) to 2000 hours (earlier models). It improves the uniformity of the picture at the cost of peak brighness. It shouldn´t be performed more than a few times a year, as every run causes a little bit of wear on the OLED display. Now imagine your TV doing this 1-2 times A DAY. I know something wasn´t right. My TV just hit the 500 hour mark, so the first run was triggered automatically, but that should do it for another 500 hours. However, either the process failed internally or it wasn´t regognised as successful. I did some research trying to fix the problem on my own, trying to avoid the the RMA process. There are only a few threads here on reddit concerning this problem, however, they were all slightly different to my problem. I also asked an OLED expert for help. This seems to be a very rare issue. I did a factory reset and also tried a manual pixel cleaning, nothing worked. Finally, I contacted LG and they took it for repair. I now got the TV back again, the OLED panel has been replaced, so there obvioulsy was a serious hardware issue. I hope that this thread helps people that run into this rare issue. Edit 11/25/2023: I just hit the 500 hour mark again on the new panel and the message popped up again. But not once :( Seems like I have to go through the complete RMA process again. I will keep you updated. Edit December 2023: I now got the TV back from its second repair. This time not only the OLED panel, but also the mainboard have been replaced. I have the strong feeling that this will finally fix the problem. However, I will only know it for sure after the next 500 hours of panel runtime. I think this is an important information for anyone who runs into the same problem. If you have exactly the same problem, maybe refer to this thread when describing the problem.
