Millions in US still living life in Internet slow lane

Many areas in the US still lack competitive broadband options, with only 24% of developed census blocks having at least two ISPs offering 25Mbps/3Mbps speeds, and 29% having none. Despite a rise in median download speeds to 39Mbps, DSL and satellite connections continue to underperform, often delivering significantly lower speeds than advertised. DSL struggles due to distance from infrastructure, while satellite speeds decline because of capacity issues from increased usage. Overall, millions of Americans remain stuck with slow or unreliable internet options.
