TAP+ (Terminal Audio Protocol) is a new system designed to allow retro BBS systems to send ESC codes for coordinate-based multimedia control, enabling simultaneous 4-channel audio playback. It operates with strict one-way communication, where only the BBS sends commands to the client, requiring no data sent back from the client. The system is managed entirely from the BBS, enhancing the multimedia experience with background music and sound effects. The new BBS client at deadmodemsociety.com already supports the basic TAP audio system, with TAP+ currently in development.
