GitHub - tobi/qmd: mini cli search engine for your docs, knowledge bases, meeting notes, whatever....

QMD is a local, on-device CLI search engine designed to index and search markdown notes, documents, and meeting transcripts using a combination of BM25 full-text search, vector semantic search, and LLM re-ranking. It supports creating collections, adding context for better search relevance, and advanced querying with keyword, semantic, and hybrid searches. QMD also features an MCP server for integration with AI agents and exposes HTTP endpoints with security measures to prevent unauthorized remote access. The tool can be used standalone or as a library in Node.js or Bun applications, enabling seamless local document retrieval and management.
