Hackers have found a way to unlock the NES Classic and upload new games via USB without needing hardware modifications, though the process involves repacking and flashing the device's kernel, which carries the risk of bricking the console. Early tests show compatibility with popular titles like Mega Man, Contra, and Battletoads, and users have reportedly added more than the default 30 games without issues. This exploit highlights a strong emulator within the hardware and could increase interest among enthusiasts if Nintendo restocks the console and does not block this method.
