GitHub - francozanardi/pycaps: Create beautiful, animated video subtitles with Python and CSS.

Pycaps is a Python tool that allows users to create stylish, animated subtitles for videos using CSS, suitable for platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts. It offers both a command-line interface and a programmable library for automating dynamic subtitle creation, featuring CSS styling, word tagging, advanced animations, and Whisper-based transcription for word-level timestamps. Users can try pycaps online via interactive demos or Google Colab for longer videos, and it runs primarily offline except for optional AI features. For those seeking a visual editor, the related open-source project tscaps provides a browser-based interactive subtitle editor with live preview and no installation required.
