Xvid and Vista I wonder if someone can help me. I recently bought a new digital camera but I am unable to play the movies I record on it on my PC (sound but no picture). I gathered this to be a codec problem so I installed and ran Gspot which said that I need the Xvid Codec. What I would like to know is, is the latest Xvid codec (from http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/) compatible with Windows Vista? I'm aware a few things are having problems with Vista so I just wanted to make sure before I download it. I'd be grateful for some advice. Thanks |

But there's nothing that got incompatible. However, you're probably better off using ffdshow than Xvid. Xvid is mostly an encoder which also decodes correctly, while ffdshow is mostly a decoder, and does that very well. |
