If you're like me, you probably have a bookmarks folder full of music videos, SoundCloud tracks, and other songs you've collected around the web. Whyd is a new, invite-only service that makes it easy to save those songs in one place, build playlists to stream anytime, and organize all that music so you can come back to it later.

The beauty of Whyd is that it's one part organizational tool and one part social network. Once you're signed up, drag the Whyd bookmarklet to your browser toolbar to quickly save any music video you find on YouTube or Vimeo, track on SoundCloud you enjoy, or any mp3 you find around the web to your music stream. From there, you can add them to playlists, share them on Twitter or Facebook, or just keep them organized so you can listen to them anytime you want, or go buy the album or track when you're ready.

You can also use Whyd to discover new music. The "stream" tab shows you tracks that people you follow have added recently, and the "discover" tab helps you find users with music tastes similar to yours. If all of this sounds familiar, that's because recently mentioned service Songdrop does many of the same things. SongDrop supports more sites and has a prettier UI, but Whyd has quite the active community of music lovers. They're both free, so there's no harm in trying both to see which you prefer.

Since Whyd is invite-only, you'll need to use the special link below to sign up. When you do, you can follow me here!
