You can run 32-bit apps and games on modern iOS and iPadOS using LiveExec32. Here you can find a full setup to launch legacy apps on iOS 18, iOS 26, and iOS 27. Imagine playing Angry Birds from 2009, Spy Mouse released in 2011, or Flappy Bird Return in 2013 on modern devices and on stock iOS without a jailbreak.

You probably wondering now how it is possible to run 32-bit binaries on 64-bit iOS? It works by bypassing through syscalls using LiveExec32 that is heavy based on unidbg. This works for both apps and games.

Here's the timeline:

  • 64-bit support was introduced with the iPhone 5s and iOS 7 (2013).
  • Starting February 2015, Apple required all new app submissions to include 64-bit support; from June 2016, even updates to existing apps had to be 64-bit.
  • iOS 10 would show a "not optimized for your device" warning when launching a 32-bit app.
  • iOS 11 (released 2017) is the version where Apple dropped 32-bit app support entirely — only 64-bit apps run on iOS 11 and later.

So if an app is compatible with iOS 11, it must be 64-bit — a purely 32-bit binary won't launch at all on iOS 11+.

Run 32-bit binaries on 64-bit iOS

I. Install LiveContainer

Step 1. Download the correct build of iloader for your platform — Windows, macOS, or Linux all have separate signed builds, so don't try to run the macOS binary under Wine or similar.

Step 2. Open iloader and sign in with the Apple ID and install LiveContainer + SideStore (Nightly) — free developer accounts work but need re-signing every 7 days, so keep that in mind.

Install LiveContainer + SideStore (Nighty) using iloader.

Step 3. In iloader, open Manage Pairing File and import the pairing file, then assign it to LiveContainer using the Place button. If LiveContainer is not on the list try to click the Rescan Installed Apps.

Step 4. Download LocalDevVPN from the App Store and open it, then tap Connect. This creates the on-device VPN tunnel that lets StikDebug and LiveContainer talk to each other locally.

If you have any issues installing the app please follow our How to install LiveContainer + SideStore on iOS 27 guide that walks you through every step. If you have already installed LiveContainer go to the next step.

II. Sideload LiveExec32 and StikDebug

Step 1. Download LiveExec32 IPA and StikDebug IPA.

Step 2. In iloader, use Import IPA and point it at the StikDebug IPA you just downloaded. Let it finish signing and installing before moving to the next step.

Step 3. Just like you did for LiveContainer, open Manage Pairing File in iloader and assign a pairing file to StikDebug. This is a separate pairing file from the one you generated for LiveContainer.

Step 4. Open LiveContainer from your Home Screen, tap the + icon, and import the LiveExec32 IPA file you downloaded in Step 1. Unlike StikDebug, LiveExec32 installs inside LiveContainer.

III. Configure LiveContainer

Step 1. Inside LiveContainer, tap the gear icon to open Settings, then scroll down to the JIT section.

Step 2. From the JIT Enabler list, select StikDebug. If StikDebug doesn't appear in the list, double-check that the pairing file from Part II, Step 3 was applied correctly and that LocalDevVPN is currently connected.

Set StikDebug as the JIT Enabler for LiveContainer.

Step 3. Still in Settings, find the option for the default 32-bit emulator and choose LiveExec32. This tells LiveContainer to automatically route any 32-bit-only IPA through LiveExec32

Select LiveExec32 as the default 32-bit emulator for LiveContainer apps.

IV. Run 32-bit Apps in LiveContainer

Step 1. From the top menu, tap on the + to import IPA files.

Install IPA from URL in LiveContainer.

Step 2. Select either Install IPA File if you have the file already downloaded locally, or Install from URL if you're pulling directly from a link.

Input IPA file to install with LiveContainer.

Step 3. Once LiveContainer finishes parsing and signing the IPA, it'll show up in your app list with its icon and name.

Step 4. Tap Run. LiveContainer will hand off to StikDebug automatically, which opens briefly — tap Enable and then Run Script inside StikDebug to grant the JIT permissions LiveExec32 needs.

Step 5. LiveContainer should now hand control back and launch the 32-bit binary directly, running it through LiveExec32's translation layer on anything from iOS 18 through iOS 27.

Conclusion

LiveExec32 doesn't support all apps and games. Some of them may run not in full screen, others can be repositioned. The project is still in active development and Nightly builds are updated daily so its a good idea to re-install the LiveExec32 IPA is something isn't working. There is a good chance with the next update it will.

If you searching for retro apps and games for iOS you can try IPA Finder or ONE Jailbreak's IPA Library.

For games you can try also a free Applesauce emulator. It plays supported 32-bit iPhone games on modern iPhones, though JIT is. It installs and runs on iPadOS too, but every game runs as an iPhone guest.
