I assume you all know how to remove screws so I'll skip that part. I also won't be going into how to use a soldering iron. This guide assumes you do. Make sure you use flux for this project. Looking at the bottom left you'll see a white cap with yellow glue on it. That actually isn't glue as that cap has in fact leaked out. And if you look to its right youll see a black cap. You can tell this one went bad because the solder points at its feet are not a shiny silver. As for what to use for caps: You can use any cap thats close enough. heck you can go all the way to about 100uf 25v Now I KNOW a lot fo you will say thats wrong. And it is!! For everything except the game gear. If you need a detailed answer then look online. So unless you are working on a game gear, always use the same UF value and the same or higher Voltage rating. But with a game gear seriously doesn't matter. Don't waste time or money buying exactly the same values or getting those cap sets. Most of my caps are salvaged from dead pc motherboards.
