Dolphin Browser, Free
Back in the days before Chrome officially existed for Android, Dolphin Browser was the app of choice for those Android unsers enthused with what their OEMs had to offer. But even after Google officially brought Chrome to the mobile platform, users continued to flock to the browser.
Dolphin reached version ten this past week, bringing with it a newly revamped user interface, a new Web app store, and expanded search options. Dolphin now lets users search directly within Amazon, Twitter, and a number of other services right from the URL bar. All you have to do is hit the search favicon next to the search bar to select the service you wish to use. The new interface has also been cleaned up, with icons that appear a little more modern and are friendlier for larger displays. Users can also turn flash on or off within the app’s settings menu, though it will require you to have Adobe Flash plugged in already to have it work.
PushBullet, Free
PushBullet on the desktop.
Sometimes you need to send a file, address, link, or a note to your phone, but multitasking between your handset and your computer is sometimes a hassle. PushBullet eradicates this issue by enabling users to easily push content from their browser directly through to their phone—as long as they have the application installed, of course. The biggest feature included in the update this week enabled device-to-device sharing, though we weren’t able to get it to work with that features just yet. The developer also pushed through a few bug fixes in there, too.
Aviary, Free
I’ve always been a big fan of Aviary and its photo editing options. Its enhance functionality is especially helpful at fixing up the color and lighting in some of the photos I take with my Galaxy S 3. The new version update this week actually brought forth some much-needed improvements, including a cleaner interface and a few new features to enhance. You can now choose from Hi-Def, Illuminate, or Color Fix, all of which are incredibly helpful. When you’re done, choose from one of th emany effects or download the new filters pack launched this week, like Woodland, which filters made specifically for outdoor shots.
