Elden Ring Bloodhound's Fang Build Guide - Equipment
Let's delve into the Bloodhound's Fang, the cornerstone of this build.
First, the Bloodhound's Fang is accessible early in the game. You can acquire it in Limgrave by defeating the Bloodhound Knight Darriwil. By beelining to this area, you can secure this weapon from the beginning of your journey, making it a reliable choice throughout your first playthrough and into New Game Plus.

The weapon's unique trait is its increased jump attack damage. Whether you wield it solo or dual-wield, this attribute makes it ideal for a jump attack-centric playstyle. Bloodhound's Finesse, the weapon skill, allows for a slash followed by a quick dart away. A follow-up R2 brings you back in for another strike, complete with iframes during both animations, enabling strategic maneuvering during combat.
In boss fights, I typically begin with either a jump attack followed by an L2 to dodge back and an R2 to re-engage, or I initiate with an L2 to evade an immediate boss attack, then counter with an R2. This tactic varies depending on the boss's behavior and requires practice to master. The L2 attack swiftly gets you out of harm's way, and the follow-up R2 utilizes iframes to dodge and strike simultaneously, ensuring you avoid damage while connecting your attacks.
Whether using one or two Bloodhound's Fangs, the strategy remains consistent: employ jump attacks to initiate combat, then use L2 and R2 to navigate and deal damage. Dual-wielding enhances the jump attack damage, making it particularly effective against regular and easier enemies.
For the rest of the armor, I use the Bloodhound Knight Set, which fits thematically if you're cosplaying as a Bloodhound. While this set is effective, there are stronger options available. Ideally, you should opt for heavier armor pieces that provide greater protection and poise. These will enhance your overall defense, allowing you to withstand more damage while still benefiting from the increased jump attack damage granted by the Raptor's Black Feathers.
Elden Ring Bloodhound's Fang Build Guide - Talismans

When it comes to talismans for this Elden Ring Bloodhound's Fang build, I use the Shard of Alexander to increase the damage of Bloodhound's Finesse.

The Claw Talisman further boosts jump attack damage, stacking with the Bloodhound's Fang and Raptor's Black Feathers to maximize your jump attack output.
Additionally, I use the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman to reduce incoming damage and the Bull-Goat's Talisman to ensure sufficient poise.
If you opt for heavier armor, consider using the Green Turtle Talisman for improved stamina recovery, which is crucial for this build. Alternatively, you can use the Great Turtle Shell on your back for additional stamina recovery, especially if you're on your first playthrough and have limited talisman slots.
As for weapon buffs, you can use various greases depending on your enemy. For instance, if facing an enemy weak to bleed, Blood Grease will enhance your bleed buildup, making it more effective.
This is particularly useful in New Game, where your damage output isn't as high, allowing bleed to trigger more effectively. In New Game Plus, you may find that enemies die before the bleed effect triggers due to your increased damage.

Elden Ring Bloodhound's Fang Build Guide - Recommended Attributes
When it comes to attributes for this Bloodhound's Fang build, I have 50 Vigor, 21 Mind, 25 Endurance, 40 Strength, 70 Dexterity, 16 Intelligence, 7 Faith, and 9 Arcane. Intelligence, Faith, and Arcane are not necessary for this build, so you can disregard those, as they are determined by the starting class.
- Vigor: Set at 50 initially, increased to 60 in New Game Plus for enhanced health to facilitate frequent trading hits.
- Mind: Initially at 21, advisable to raise to 25 or 30 in New Game Plus due to Bloodhound's Finesse consuming significant FP.
- Endurance: Set at 25, suitable for the current armor setup and dual-wielding two Bloodhound's Fangs, should be increased to 30 or 35 for heavier armor setups.
- Strength: Currently at 40, aim to increase to 80 after Dexterity to optimize damage output.
- Dexterity: Set at 70, prioritize raising to 80 before focusing on Strength for optimal scaling.
- Faith and Arcane: Not essential for this build, but can be added for buffs like Flame, Grant Me Strength or Golden Vow in New Game Plus Plus for additional damage.
One notable aspect of this build is its minimal reliance on buffs, apart from Grease, which can be used during boss fights if desired but isn't mandatory. The build boasts high damage output and versatility across various combat situations, making constant buffing unnecessary.
In this Bloodhound's Fang build, I've opted not to include Lord of Blood's Exultation or White Mask, as I find that Blood Loss isn't triggered frequently enough to justify the attack power boost. While these items might be more relevant in a first playthrough, obtaining them later limits their effectiveness, especially in New Game Plus.

For selecting a Great Rune, I highly recommend Godrick's Great Rune. It benefits Vigor, Mind, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity, covering most of the essential stats for this build. Additionally, if you're considering using Flame, Grant and Strength for boss fights, investing a bit in Faith could be beneficial. Another viable option is Radahn's, which provides bonuses to FP, Stamina, and HP, all valuable for this build.

That wraps up our Bloodhound build. As always, let us know if you have questions or other tips in the comments below. We have a ton more builds coming for Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree so stay tuned for those.
