Idea

We co-design the idea with the client from the very beginning. We bring in our specialist skills (hardware, firmware, software, AI, Cloud IoT) to provide a complete framework and identify solutions that aren’t immediately obvious. Hands-on experience allows us to turn intuition into concrete choices, reducing risk, time and cost, and steering the project toward a scalable, competitive outcome.

Drafting the specifications

We draw up complete specifications for the final product in all its parts and components: functional and performance requirements, architecture, hardware, firmware, software/app, interfaces and protocols, tests and validation, regulatory compliance, and documentation for production and maintenance.

Cost analysis

We perform a targeted cost analysis to achieve the best match with the client’s goals. Where appropriate, we propose product alternatives with different levels of investment and performance, leveraging novelty and the opportunities offered by recent, available technologies. We provide clear comparative scenarios (costs, timelines, benefits) for quick, informed decisions, optimizing budget and time-to-market.

Step-2

Hardware Industrialization

The second step is the industrialization of the finished product: we define clearances, mounts and tolerances, design mechanical and aesthetic parts (housings, panels, interfaces) and align Duolabs electronics with the client’s brand look and feel. We optimize assembly and manufacturability, select materials and finishes, and validate with pre-series runs. The goal: transform the prototype into a product consistent with the desired aesthetics, ready for production.

Firmware and Software Development

Duolabs turns the corporate client’s initial specifications into production-ready software and firmware solutions. We define architecture and roadmap, develop application logic and drivers, design brand-consistent graphical interfaces, and integrate the user experience into real usage flows.
The goal is a reliable, secure and scalable result: iterative development with joint reviews, test and maintenance tools, complete documentation, and integration with enterprise systems where required.

Hardware Prototyping

Duolabs builds functional prototypes to start the first field tests and measure product performance in real-world scenarios. Prototypes make it possible to validate requirements, refine the user experience and reduce risks before the pre-series, with fast cycles of feedback and improvement.
Hardware prototyping is performed entirely in-house: PCB design and fabrication, SMD assembly, component rework, wiring and mechanical integration (mock-ups, 3D printing, rapid machining). Duolabs prepares fixtures and test benches, performs firmware bring-up, electrical and RF measurements, thermal and stress tests, with telemetry and reports to support decisions. The result: stable, repeatable prototypes ready for pre-series, with short lead times and full quality control.

Step-5

Field testing

At this stage the project is ready for field testing. Duolabs provides expertise and experience to support and accompany the trials, structuring targeted test plans and streamlined operating procedures. The goal is to make tests fast and efficient, with early detection of issues in the initial phase, data collection and immediate feedback for rapid iteration. On-site or remote support, concise reports and prioritized corrective actions ensure a smooth transition to pre-series and production.

CE pre-compliance

Duolabs has a pre-compliance lab to carry out, already during development, the main tests aimed at CE marking (EMC, electrical safety, RF). This approach anticipates issues, reduces iterations at accredited labs and minimizes certification risks, shortening time and cost. We also support the entire CE certification process: test plan definition, sample and technical file preparation, selection and coordination of labs, attendance during tests, analysis of non-conformities and corrective actions. We stand by the client as needed, right through to successful completion.

Mass production

Duolabs launches turnkey production of electronic boards: component sourcing, SMT/THT assembly, programming, and 100% testing (functional and EOL). Every unit is serialized and recorded to guarantee complete field traceability.
Ready for mass production, Duolabs manages pilot batches, process validation, quality plans and reporting.
