Shortly after the release I decided to do a port using SDL. I never quite managed to document it and get it out to the public, until now. This is a gameplay capture of the SDL port I made. I manually converted all of the DOS routines and hand-written assembler to modern C/C++ and SDL. The port includes some nice extras, like OPL synth emulation and XInput gamepad support on Windows. In addition, I modified Carmack's EGA routines to achieve 100% smooth scrolling. This wasn't possible at the time, so scrolling always felt a bit coarse. The source code is available on Github over here, and has been verified to work on Windows and Mac OS. Compiling the code under Linux should be trivial, as generally it's a much more developer/oss friendly OS. https://github.com/marcel303/keen
