Hi I posted last week about the bother I'm having upgrading from the stock hard drive I've tried chimp and the hexen disc which I managed to get to detect the new hard drive after hot swapping the drive once the hexen disc booted but it then freezes at formatting c: (I left it running for an hour to be sure).

Anyways last ditch attempt at upgrading the hard drive before resigning myself to buying a pre upgraded model is xboxhdm but I have absolutely no experience using it and can't seem to find a full guide anywhere so here are my questions...

1. I have downloaded xboxhdm2.2 and ftp'd my C and e drives from the stock xbox HD into those folders and also my eeprom which I think is supposed to go to the root of the USB drive? Is this correct?

2. I don't know if I have a USB stick the correct size but I do have a load of 40gb small sata hard drives which I can use. If I stick this in a USB docking device can I use xboxhdm from it?

3. Are there any decent guides you can suggest for me to use this program?

I have an old ide enabled pc so as far as I'm aware I put everything from the xbochdm2.2a zip onto the root of the drive with the eeprom and then set the pc to boot from USB and then I'm set?
