In the meantime, i remembered that after getting the no connection to the internet error, you can enable the connection to the internet in the router and enable and disable the accessibility feature in the clock through the mobile phone. (Google home app)

I don’t know of it’s through the internet or locally via Bluetooth.

That way you can use or not the accessibility feature, whichever is more convenient commanding the clock.

With regard to the problem you are having, I haven't seen that, but would suggest that you download the APK a second time. When you are taken to the download screen, you should see two packages with the same name downloaded. The newest one will be on the left and the older one on the right. Select the older one and delete it (trashcan in top bar). Then try to open the one that's left.

I've gotten as far as installing the keyboard and launcher will press on and, if successful, do the same with the "fresh" clock - after updating, of course.

TLDR right now, because as I said, I am very tired.

Let me be clear: you let a new clock update it itself without any kind of blocking.
After update you blocked the internet.
And you still managed to do the update?

I sucessfully manage to do the process and install custom apps.
I did everything as in the video, now I have the launcher and the keys mapped.

I have some questions yet.

The solutions to block the micrphone is to kill manually the service everytime it reboots.
The solution to block internet access is to use a BSD docker Container/Virtual Machine running a proxy HA Proxy.
I am used to using docker and VMs so no problems, but I have never used the HA Proxy.
Is there a tutorial you guys know to help me out with this?

Also, is there some kind of tutorial to wall panel? I have homeassistant already installed in my network, and what brought me to this was precisely the option of having Wall Panel in the clock as we can see in Cameron's video.
Can someone help me out with a tutorial so I can begin exploring that?

Also, I would like to have the sunrise clock option running as a bedside clock.
So I would like a solution to that, that can be:

• An Android App that does exactly the same as the stock clock did
• Having the option of booting the hacked or non hacked version. Like for example, go to the settings and say default launcher once, home launcher, but that leads being connected to the internet or broadcasting the wireless network.
• Any other option that you can suggest that enables me using this as a bedside clock with a sunrise alarm and the custom apps: home assistant, etc.

A special thanks to @rrowe629 in this process, that allowed me to risk connecting this to the internet, without this I don't know if I would have tried.

I have been trying several things with no success.

The best I got to see was Lenovo conencting to wifi, but saying that I need to login the page.
and I see a page with the header of my tplink site, and the body, of what is being served by my machine.

What am I doing wrong?

Conencting to the home wifi, saying sign in required.
I press it and I have a black page, doing nothing.
if I choose the use the network as is, I still get the wireless not connected logo.

This is a really cool solution that almost worked with the mi smart clock.
Unfortunately the xiaomi(or google?) guys have scraped everything that resembles a browser or could possibly open a link.

Also, went trough all the settings (using the method described above, and searching for settings, apps, etc.) Everything that's USB or Bluetooth related is severely cut down to only work as needed for the intended functionality. Can't attach a keyboard. Can't transfer a file trough Bluetooth. So, although in theory you could install anything, u can't get any new files downloaded on the device.

I have successfully hacked it, installée WallPanel and HomeAssistant, but I am now stucked with one thing :

In my Android Phone, I was able to change the Assist engine from the default Google Assistant to the Home Assistant one.
I do not know how to access this same setting in the Lenovo device.

I now have a third clock and have not been successful with this approach. Everything works as described in holysoles' method until I select "Open" in step 5. At that point, the website loads, but a series of four pop-ups appear on top asking if I want to grant Browser access to Contacts, allow the taking of pictures and video, access to photos, and record audio. Options are "Allow" and "Deny".

Regardless of how I answer these prompts, the window closes after the last prompt and I'm again looking at the screen that contained the link I tried to open. As I indicated in a prior post, the clock appears to have two different browsers - one with a white-background address bar and one with a black-background address bar. The white address bar is the default and cannot be used for downloads. The black address bar version allows downloads and what has worked successfully with the previous clocks. It lands on the right web page and tantalizingly appears behind the popups, but it closes immediately after the last popup is answered.

I've tested all variations of responses to the prompts and reset the clock numerous times. Oddly, if you reply "Allow" to all of the prompts and try again to follow the link you tried to open, nothing happens. This behavior persists even after a reboot unless you reset the clock and start the whole cycle over again.

Oddly, the firmware versions on all of my clocks are identical: Build version 1.2.2.627, Software version 11.51.6.416171605 and Firmware version 1.56.285116. I bought this clock used, so I can only guess that it has had an update applied that did not change the version numbers with the intention of blocking this exploit.

For now, I'm stuck with this particular clock. Thought I'd go ahead and post this in case others encounter this problem.

My question: does anybody know why i am not able to use any form of background wallpaper? Live or static? I tried via setting, nothing. For normal pictures, nothing happens, for Live it says the .apk is not installed.

Same if i tried e.g. Nova Launcher. I am not able to get any background to the Launcher at all.

Any Help appriciated.

And second of all: is there a chance to install the google apps?

What is it missing here? I read somewhere the I would need a local NTP server.
Does this make sense?
Where should I install it?
In the default gateway? In the HA Proxy machine? In the DNS Server?
Because in my network they are 3 different machines.
