If you get a Harmony remote you can get to the service menu easily as there's a command already in there "in-start". Not sure about the C6 as it's a few generations ago now, but it will definitely work on the C9. Worked on my B8 and works on my CX.

Run powershell, navigate where the software is and run the command maKa mentioned. Change the IP to the actual IP of your TV. Access code will display on TV, its 0413.

I came across this a little while ago on the doom9 forum: GitHub - chros73/bscpylgtv: Library to control webOS based LG TV devices and am surprised it hasn't gained more attention. In fact, searching here shows that @chros is actually present on this forum and has linked to it a few times previously.

I've used it to enter the service menu on my GX to get the power on time. Should work for your C9 but can't comment on the C6.

There is a Windows executable under releases, you should be fine with the lite version. If you copy and paste the command, just be mindful on how 'terminal' interprets the double quote.
For example, in PowerShell this would throw an error:

What Harmony remote did you use is it a specific one or would any Harmony remote work.

I used an Elite and also Ultimate which have the instart commands listed in the database. Not quite sure on other remotes, sorry. I would have thought they would be similar ?

Okay, and how if I do not have the so called "magic" remote. Did I understood this wrong? I thought that one can enter Service Menu by running your script via PC connected to same intranet as TV. I peeked at lg-toggle-InStartSM script and it somehow sends the "InStart" command (button only found in LG Service remote) and the required pin code after that.

Sure, if you run the same script one more time then it exits: both part deals with the factorywin app, 1st you launch it with parameters, 2nd it closes the same app.

For people using a "Flipper Zero" :

Attached is a copy of LG service remote with all keys captured. Just load the file on the Flipper Zero SD card and open it with the Flipper IR app. You will have an exact copy of the LG service remote.

This is really hand folks, thanks. Quick question though - as per Vincent @ hdtvtest, I want to switch off TPC and GSR from the service menu. I have a Harmony so have added "In-Start" to the screen to get into service menu.

However, if I switch off TPC and GSR from within there, does anyone know if doing so will impact in any way the calibration I had done on the TV (LG G1 77")? As I don't want to "undo" any of the good work that was done for me with that.

Won’t change your calibrated settings but if either of these dimming algorithms kicked in during test patterns your luminance results will be off.
